Effects
- (User) Creates a slimy grease slick of 10m radius around the targeted location that persists for 20 seconds.
- This spell affects friendlies and enemies alike.
- (Target) Any target inside the slick is slowed to 50% of their present speed.
- (Target) Targets that fail a Physical Resistance check modified by the caster's Spellpower slip and take some time to get back to their feet. This check is repeated every 1.5 seconds for anyone in the affected area.
- (Target) Targets with inherit Spell Resistance (such as some Demons) may be able to resist the effects alltogether.
Synergy Effects
- Any target affected by a Fire Damage over Time effect entering or remaining inside the grease effect will cause the entire slick to burst violently into flames, creating a Grease Fire.
- A Grease Fire deals 30 points of fire damage over 20 seconds to anyone inside the effect.
- A Blizzard spell will immediately quench any grease fire and douse anyone caught in flames.
- The effects of Grease Fire and Inferno do not stack.
Passive Effects
Learning this ability does not grant additional passive effects.
Threat
Threat describes the amount of hate an action generates on it's target. Abilities that inflict damage always generate threat proportional to the amount of damage dealt.
- This ability does not generate additional threat.
Role
Grease is a great low level utility spell to slow down approaching enemies while the parties ranged attackers pelt them with arrows and spells. In combination with any kind of spell that causes fire damage over time, this spell becomes a powerful area damage dealer and causes many types of enemies to scatter out of formation, trying to flee the effects.
Use of this spell can be tricky due to friendly fire on higher difficulties.
